Creative State Michigan organizes these impacts in 3 categories: economic, educational and community. The jobs and events at the 211 organizations in the Michigan Cultural Data Project generate a wide range of business activity from paying rent to buying supplies and food, to hiring service contractors, all of which results in tax revenue. The events attract tourists who buy meals, merchandise and stay in local hotels.
